His Holiness Aram I decorates Mihran and Zarminé Kurdoghlian with the insignia of “Mesrob Mashdotz”

On Sunday 6 October 2013 after the Holy Liturgy at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias, His Holiness Aram I received Mr and Mrs Kurdoghlian and guests at the Main Hall of the Catholicosate.

Bishop Khoren Toghramadjian, the Prelate of Greece introduced the couple to the guests. He noted that after graduating from the Seminary, Mr. Kurdoghlian taught in Armenian schools in Lebanon, was later appointed director of the Armenian high school in Greece, and published a three-volume Armenian History textbook. The bishop described Zarminé Kurdoghlian as an accomplished teacher of children, who also taught in Lebanon and Greece.

His Holiness Aram I praised the couple’s commitment to the education of Armenian youth, and said, “The Catholicosate of Cilicia does not decorate a person solely for his or her diplomas nor for his or her material possessions; rather, it rewards commitments that uphold the Armenian heritage.”

Rev. Varant Kortmossian then read the Pontifical Letter and His Holiness presented the awards.
