The Conference of Secretaries of Christian World Communions held its yearly meeting virtually from October 12th to the 14th, 2021. The ecumenical officers of each respective church family and communion shared their reports and updates. The executive session of the conference elected its new chair for the upcoming term, and finalized the details of the in-person meeting that will be held in 2022 in Vancouver, Canada.
Rev. Fr. Hrant Tahanian participated on behalf of the Catholicosate of Cilicia. Our church’s report was offered to the members of the conference, detailing our ecumenical initiatives and challenges, as well as future endeavors. Fr. Hrant shared details about the critical situation in the Middle East, specifically Lebanon, as well as the situation in Artsakh one year after the war. Members of the conference used the Q&A as an opportunity to reaffirm and stress the solidarity of their churches with Lebanon and Artsakh.
