On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia, prayer for the Republic was offered during the Divine Liturgy at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, presided by His Holiness Aram I, on Sunday, September 19th, 2021.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Catholicos ascended the altar with a pontifical procession. He prayed and expressed gratitude to the Almighty for saving the Armenian nation from grasp of death, bringing it back to life, and re-establishing its leadership. His Holiness Aram I beseeched God to protect the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Church, and the faithful, from all kinds of evil.
The sermon was delivered by V. Rev. Fr. Avedik Der Garabedian. He shared the view that even though life is full of troubles, we are not defeated; for as long as we believe in God, we are victorious.
Note that prayers for the Republic of Armenia were also conducted in all local churches under the jurisdiction of the Holy See of Cilicia, across the world.
