On Tuesday, May 25th, 2021, His Holiness Aram I received the following visitors and held the following meetings in Antelias:
A) Syriac Archbishop George Saliba. Archbishop Saliba extended an invitation on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II to His Holiness Aram I for the episcopal ordination of Syriac Orthodox bishops to be held at the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh. Accompanying the Archbishop were the two prospective bishops.
B) A meeting between His Holiness Aram I, Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, director of the Cilicia Library, and the architects working on renovating and reorganizing the Library. The meeting was held to inform His Holiness on the progress of the renovation.
C) The delegation from the Khatchig Babikian Publication Fund who had recently traveled to Armenia to present their 14th publication entitled “100th Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia: Conference Materials (Antelias, 21-23 March 2018). The delegation consisted of Yervant Pamboukian (Chair), Katchig Dedeyan (secretary) and Shahan Kandaharian. They briefed His Holiness on the event and extended the appreciations and gratefulness the participants expressed to His Holiness for having organized the 2018 The delegation also informed His Holiness on the presentations of the following publications – the 13th volume of “Materials on the History of the ARF,” “The Unpublished Letters of Christapor Michaelian.” and “Nigol Tuman: Letters,” (all edited by Yervant Pamboukian), as well as the two poetry volumes “Beyond the Dream” (by Khatchig Dedeyan, chancellor of the Catholicosate).
D) The Vicar General of the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate in Lebanon Archbishop Kevork Assadourian informed His Holiness of the passing of Patriarch Gregory Peter XX Ghabroyan. His Holiness expressed his deepest condolences to the Armenian Catholic church and community.
