“YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE PRESIDENT WHO FULFILLED HIS ELECTORAL CAMPAIGN PLEDGE” HIS HOLINESS ARAM I

On April 24th, 2021, in his official statement marking the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the President of the United State of America Joe Biden described the planned extermination of the Armenian people carried out by the Ottoman-Turkish state by its exact, historical and legal name: Genocide.

His Holiness Aram I extended a letter of appreciation to President Biden stating, “I express profound gratitude on behalf of my predecessors, who were forced to leave the centuries-old historic Centre of the Armenian Church at the Catholicosate in Sis (the present day Kozan) and settle in Lebanon, as well as the survivors of the genocide who are dispersed all over the world.” His Holiness continued: “Mr. President, you will be remembered as the President of the United States of America who fulfilled his electoral campaign pledge and inspired hope to victims whose legitimate rights have been continually denied, Most importantly, you have reaffirmed the commitment of the United Stated of America to justice, human rights, and accountability.”

Concluding, His Holiness stated “Your determination to move beyond words is also a bold attempt to seek alternative strategics to overcome geopolitical interest as well as a reminder to world politicians that electoral pledges are responsible commitments to justice and not a means tp seek power.”
