On Sunday, April 4th, 2021, on the occasion of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church paid a visit to His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. H.H. Aphrem II’s entourage included two prelates as well as a number of Syriac clergy. Also present alongside Catholicos Aram I was H.E Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, H.E Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, as well as H.G. Bishop Magar Ashkarian.
During their meet, the two pontiffs discussed matters within their respective churches as well as issues relating to the Middle East.
Patriarch Aphrem II delivered his good wishes to Catholicos Aram I on Easter Tidings. Catholicos Aram I in his turn, thanked the Syriac Orthodox Pontiff and wished him good health.
On this same occasion, H.H. Aram I received Easter greetings from Pope Francis, as well as other high-ranking spiritual leaders of the Catholic, Orthodox and Evangelical churches, as well as ambassadors from various foreign countries.
