His Holiness Aram I sent letters of condolences to the family of the deceased Emir and the Prime Minister of Kuwait, on behalf of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, and personally, over the death of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In his letter, Aram I talks about the important role played by Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a Foreign Minister during the Lebanese civil war in reconciliation of the sides, and considers him an advocate for the Arab cause and dialogue between people and religions. His Holiness Aram I also sheds light on his paternal regard to the Armenians community in Kuwait and mentions that Kuwait has lived prosperity on economical, cultural and educational field during his office, and concludes the letter by stating that Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will remain a distinctive leader not only in Kuwait but also in the Arab world.
