PRAYERS IN SOLIDARITY OF ARTSAKH IN ANTELIAS

On October 4th, 2020, during the Sunday Divine Liturgy celebrated at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I offered prayers for Artsakh and the Armenian Army, who are fighting for their God-given right to live freely and independently on the frontlines of their homeland, and presided over the requiem service held at the end of the Liturgy, for the souls of the fallen martyrs.

Aram I asked God to protect Armenia, Artsakh and the all Armenians from visible and invisible enemies, grant healing to the wounded and eternal rest to the souls of the martyrs.

Mark that His Holiness established contacts with ecumenical circles and conveyed the actual image of the war in Artsakh, the provocations of the enemy, the participation of Turkey and terrorists alongside Azerbaijan, and underlined the God-given right of our people to live freely and independently. In turn, ecumenical organizations, in particular the World Council of Churches and the Middle East Council of Churches, condemned the Azerbaijan aggression and called for a political settlement.

Note that His Holiness appealed to Armenians, via prelacies and otherwise, to show solidarity to the Armenian Army by all means and through donating to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.
