As recently announced, the Catholicosate of Cilicia has initiated a fundraising campaign, dedicated to the restoration of the Lebanese Armenian community. His Holiness Catholicos Aram I has appealed for all donations to be made to a special account opened for this purpose in Geneva. The collected funds will be transferred to the Lebanese Armenian Rehabilitation Commission, who is in charge of the restoration process.
We would like to share the names of the foundations and benefactors that have contributed thus far: Catholicosate of Echmiadzin, Tashir Group (Samvel Karapetyan), Gagik Tsarukyan Charity Foundation, Luys Foundation (Former Armenian President of Serj Sargsyan), Aurora Humanitarian Initiative (Noubar Afeyan, Ruben Vardanyan), Dikran Djigeryan (France).
Many individual sponsors have also contributed with donations to the campaign.
Aram I underlined that the restoration of the Lebanese Armenian Community is a pan-Armenian priority, and therefore, it is our expectation that our prelacies, organizations and community members continue contributing with their generous donations to the campaign.
