On Tuesday, September 10th, 2019, His Holiness Aram I received the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Mr. Jan Kubis, in Bikfaya.
During the meeting they discussed the current situation in Lebanon, challenges of the Middle East, the Christian presence in the region, Christian-Muslim dialogue and the role of the UN on the international scene. After exchanging their perspectives, they underlined that the role of religion remains crucial in today’s world.
Mr. Kubis also delivered a letter to His Holiness from the UN Secretary General Mr. Antonio Guterres, and they decided to hold a second meeting in the near future.
