On Friday, September 6th, 2019, His Holiness Aram I received the UNIFIL Sector West Commander, Brigadier General Bruno Pisciotta, accompanied by two of his assistants. They talked about the UN’s UNIFIL mission in Lebanon in peacekeeping.

The meeting was also an opportunity to talk about the UNIFIL Armenian troop. General Pisciotta spoke highly of the Armenian troop and commended their commitment to the UNIFIL mission.

The General asked the Catholicos’ view concerning organizing a Christian-Muslim dialogue in Southern Lebanon in attendance of spiritual leaders. In turn, His Holiness encouraged all sorts of initiatives to further strengthen the Christian-Islamic coexistence.
