In the recent week, a consultation meeting was held at the Catholicosate of Cilicia in Antelias between the Armenian Church and representatives from the National Organization of Organ Donation and Tissue Transplantation (NOD-LB) working under the umbrella of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health. In attendance were H.G. Bishop Magar Ashkarian, Rev. Fr. Megerditch Keshishian and the Chancellor of the Catholicosate of Cilicia Mr. Katchig Dedeyan.

The meeting aimed at presenting the accomplishments of the NOD-LB and soliciting the opinion of His Holiness Aram I, who voiced his viewpoints through the representatives stating that the work performed by the NOD-LB is commendable; nevertheless, organ donation needs a thorough and holistic consideration, since it encompasses theological, physiological and humanitarian perspectives. His Holiness also underlined the importance of a united collaboration with and from the churches.
