On Tuesday, July 9th, 2019, His Holiness Aram I received the committee of the Compatriotic Union of Hadjin in Lebanon and the commission of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Hadjin. The visitors consisted of Paul Yacoubian, Aram Malian, Jirayr Tanielian, Dr. Antranig Dakessian and Haig Oghoulloukian.
The aim of the visit was to brief His Holiness on the upcoming events related to the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Hadjin, which will be held the following year in Lebanon, Armenian and all around the Armenian Diaspora.
The Catholicos commended their efforts in keeping the Armenian legacy alive and underlined the crucial role of the compatriotic unions, especially in regards of preserving the Armenian identity, as well as commended their contribution in educational, cultural and social fields.
