On Tuesday, June 11th, 2019, the Women’s Bible Study of the Christian Education Department of the Catholicosate of Cilicia concluded this year’s sessions. On this occasion and according to the tradition, the last session was conducted by His Holiness Aram I.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by the director of the above mentioned department V. Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian.
In his pontifical speech, the Catholicos underlined the importance of the relations between the church and the faithful, and mentioned that Jesus Christ spent the last three years of His worldly life by wandering among people and inviting them to follow Him. He called upon the faithful to not only passively follow on His path, but also live an active Christian life by becoming part of Him and communing with Him. His Holiness Aram I then stressed the importance of the family and said that a family is a small church and school, where moral and spiritual values should be taught and kept, and for this, he underlined the role of mothers. His Holiness concluded his speech by commending the efforts of V. Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian and Rev. Fr. Antranig Kurumian, as well as the participants.
At the end of the meeting, the participants had an opportunity to ask His Holiness their questions.
The meeting ended with a group photo in front of the Cathedral.
