On Sunday, May 26^th, 2019, His Holiness Aram I decorated two ARMENOFAS Board members Rev. Rudolf Renfer and Attorney François Payot with the “Knight of Cilicia” insignia as a token of appreciation for their more than 40 years of service to the Armenians through ARMENOFAS Foundation.

Prof. Teny Pirri-Simonian, the Chair of the Foundation, delivered the welcoming remarks and briefed the history of Swiss-Armenian friendship, which goes back to 1890s, during the time of the Genocide, and she said that ARMENOFAS is the extension of that friendship and support of the Armenian Cause.

His Holiness Aram I delivered his speech. He too stressed the importance of ARMENOFAS’ role in the Swiss-Armenian friendship and shed light on the collaboration between the Armenian Church Catholicosate of Cilicia and the Swiss Churches. He concluded by bestowing upon Rev. Rudolf Renfer and Attorney François Payot the “Knight of Cilicia” insignia.
