“Armash” choir of the Armenian Theological Seminary had prepared a very special concert on this Holy Week, dedicated to the final days of Jesus Christ before His triumphal resurrection.
On Holy Wednesday, April 17th, 2019, St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral reverberated the beautiful voices of around 20 Seminarians, led by Rev. Fr. Zaven Najarian and accompanied by Hasmig Kasbarian on the organ, across dimly lit St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral of the Catholicosate. The choir chanted Armenian hymns describing the passion of the Christ.
His Holiness Aram I presided over the concert and delivered his pontifical message. He stated that the concert symbolized an eve of a feast, because it served as an invitation for the faithful to take part in the journey of the Christ through participating in the special services of the Holy Week. His Holiness underlined the mission of the Church which goes beyond the walls, he said, and stressed the importance of taking the spiritual and ethical values to the faithful everywhere and under all circumstances, and for that he commended the efforts of the Seminary, the choir, and the information and the communication department.
Note that, V. Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, the Dean of the Seminary, delivered the opening speech.
The concert was concluded with the choir chanting “Park Surp Khatchit” (Glory to your Holy Cross).
