On September 8th, 2018, His Grace Bishop Anoushavan Tanielian was elected to serve as the new prelate of the Eastern Prelacy of the USA at a special session of the Diocesan National Representative Assembly.
His Holiness Aram I ratified the election in a Pontifical letter directed to the Assembly. His Holiness wished the newly elected Prelate success in his mission, as well as commended the preceding primate H.E. Arch. Oshagan Choloyan for his services.
