On Friday evening, August 10th, 2018, the Summer Youth Academy concluded its program with a closing session headed by His Holiness Aram I in Bikfaya. For over two weeks, the Academy, entitled “Thinking Through the Armenian Church: the Anchor of Identity and Compass for Action,” equipped the participants, who had come from the USA and Canada, with knowledge about the Armenian Church, as well as with methods to have a more active participation in the church and community life.

The supervisor of the Academy, V. Rev. Zareh Sarkissian, delivered the opening remarks. He summarized the past two weeks and underlined the main highlights. Following this, the platform was open to the participants, who expressed their thoughts and impressions regarding the experience. The youth unanimously agreed that the experience has contributed to their spiritual growth and their outlook of church life.

In turn, His Holiness commanded the youth and stressed on the importance of taking what the Academy provided them to their churches and work on using these knowledge for the renewal of the church, because the youth should be at the center of our church and community life, he stated.
