DAY TWO OF “RELIGIONS AND ENVIRONMENT,” THE 8TH ROUND OF RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE BETWEEN ICRO AND THE CATHOLICOSATE OF CILICIA

The 8th round of Religious Dialogue between the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and the Catholicosate of Cilicia continued its sessions on Thursday, June 28th, 2018.

 

Three sessions were held on day two of the religious dialogue. The guest speakers included Mr. Ardouyd Zohrabian from the Armenian Prelacy of Tehran and Dr. Shahin Avani, Deputy for Research and Director General of Graduate Studies of Iranian Institute for Research in Philosophy, who presented on “Environment and Common Ethical Values of Divine Religions.” Dr. Berdj Hajian, Director General of the Ministry of Environment of Lebanon, Hojatoleslam Hojat Gonabadi Nezhad, Director General of cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi, and Dr. Morteza Saneei, Director General of Graduate Studies & Faculty member of Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute presented on “The Impact of Healthy Environment on Personal and Social Life From the Viewpoint of Islam and Christianity.” In the final session of the day, Dr. Seyyed Hasan Eslami, faculty member in University of Religions an d Denomination, Dr. Karen Khanlarani, Parliament member of Armenians of Tehran and North Iran, and V. Rev. Hrant Tahanian,  ecumenical officer at the Catholicosate of Cilicia, presented “Man and Nature in the Religious Teachings of Islam and Christianity.”

 

At the end of each session a Q&A was held.

 

At the end of the day, the participants of the Religious Dialogue visited St. Mary’s Monastery in Bikfaya, where His Holiness Aram I received them in the Main Hall.
