THE ARMENIAN THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY DEDICATES ITS 88TH COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY TO THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS HOLINESS ARAM I’s PRIESTHOOD ORDINATION

The 88th commencement ceremony of the Armenian Theological Seminary took place on Saturday, June 16th, 2018, in Bikfaya. The ceremony ceremony was dedicated to His Holiness Aram I’s 50th anniversary of the priesthood ordination.

 

The welcoming remarks was delivered by Fr. Zaven Najarian, who pointed out the significant aspects of the Seminary that makes it more than a school, but a home. He concluded his speech by extending his congratulations on behalf of the Brotherhood to His Holiness Aram I.

 

The student speaker Fr. Avedik Der Garabedian took the stage to address the gathering. He gave a brief account of the memories they have acquired in the Seminary while preparing for their ministry and expressed gratitude to His Holiness, the teachers and to all those involved in their formation.

 

Dean Boghos Tinkjian presented the annual report and awarded the three students that had accumulated the highest average of the school year, He then invited His Holiness Aram I to the stage to distribute the diplomas and deliver his pontifical speech.

 

In his speech, His Holiness Aram I stated that the Armenian Theological Seminary has enormous potential in the ministerial field, as well as in the Armenological field. He underlined the monumental role of the Catholicosate throughout the Armenian history through which Armenians have kept their national identity. Addressing the graduates, His Holiness commended that they continue their ministerial journey with renewed sense of service.
