On May 11th, 2018, Mr. Fotis Fotiou, the Commissioner for matters on Overseas Cypriots and Religious Groups and the representative of the president of the Republic of Cyprus, accompanied by the ambassador of Cyprus to Lebanon Christina Rafti and embassy officials, visited His Holiness Aram I.  

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss matters concerning the Armenian diaspora in Cyprus, the current situation in Lebanon and the Middle East, the Armenian Case and Armenia-Cyprus relations. Mr. Foutiou also shared that, based on His Holiness’ suggestion, the Cypriot state has granted the Armenian Prelacy in Cyprus and its adjacent schools an increase to their annual subsidy.

At the end of the meeting, there was an exchange of souvenirs. The Cypriot delegation also visited the Armenian Genocide Martyrs’ Chapel.
