STUDENTS FROM NEAR EAST SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (N.E.S.T.) VISIT THE CATHOLICOSATE OF CILICIA

On Wednesday, December 6th, N.E.S.T. class “Contemporary Eastern Churches” visited the Catholicosate, led by their professor Dr. Rima Nasrallah van Saane.

 

They started their visit with a detailed tour of the Cilicia Museum. Subsequently, they were greeted by V. Rev. Fr. Hrant Tahanian, Director of the Ecumenical Office, who offered a presentation on the history of the foundation of the Armenian Church, followed by a Q&A session on contemporary issues faced by the church. They also had the opportunity to hear an introductory lecture on the hymnology of the Armenian church, presented by H.G. Bishop Meghrig Parikian, director of the Christian Education Department.

 

They finished their tour by visiting the the Armenian Genocide Orphans’ “Aram Bezikian” Museum.

 

The class had a diverse mix of students, originating from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Singapore, USA, Sweden, Lebanon, and Syria.
