28 June 2013. His Holiness Aram I has congratulated H.E. Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on his accession to the throne of Qatar. In his letter, the Catholicos expressed the hope that the Emir would continue his father H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani’s agenda of reform and development.

Catholicos Aram I ended his letter by transmitting the good wishes of the Armenian community in Qatar and assuring the young Emir of their continued commitment to contribute to the productivity and prosperity of the State of Qatar.
