Ordination of Choristers and Subdeacons in Antelias

4 June 2017. On Sunday Pentecost, His Holiness Aram I presided over the Holy Liturgy, during which 10 students of the Seminary were raised to the rank of Choristors and three were ordained as Subdeacons. The Catholicos read the psalmist’s proclamation, How lovely are Your dwelling places, O Lord of hosts! My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God” (Psalm 84:1-4). Then Bishop Meghrik Parikian, Director of the Christian Education Department, performed the ceremony and Monk Zaven Najarian, Supervisor of the Seminary, served as Patron of the living.

In his exhortation, the celebrant explained the meaning of Pentecost and added, “If you feel the joy of the presence of God within you, the Holy Spirit will guide you. Today, you are invited to serve God; you must feel His presence and the Holy Spirit will guide your work.”

After the Holy Liturgy, His Holiness blessed the newly ordained Subdeacons, Krikor Arabatlian, Noubar Pampalian and Ghaszar Keushkerian; he also blessed the Choristers, Shant Kadedjian, Antranikg Minassian, Emmanuel Sirchanian, Herag Kerdanian, Kaspar Tovmassian, Chrisdapor Minassian, Zaven Ghazarian, Steve Nouran, Yervant Bitarian and Jack Fanounian, as well as the members of the directorate of the Seminary.
