On Thursday 6 April 2017 in the morning, Hugo Short, Ambassador designate of the UK to Lebanon, met with His Holiness Aram I. During the meeting, which lasted around an hour, they discussed matters related to the Middle East and the internal life of Lebanon. His Holiness then talked about the Armenian community in Lebanon and briefed the Ambassador designate on the mission of the Catholicosate of Cilicia. Towards the end of the visit, Catholicos Aram I spoke to the Ambassador designate about cooperation between the Anglican and Armenian Churches.
