The Catholicosate of Cilicia takes part in the meeting of the Pro Oriente Foundation in Vienna

The on-going Dialogue meeting between the Roman Catholic Pro Oriente Foundation and the Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Churches was held from 28 November to 1 December 2016 in Vienna. The primary goal of the Foundation is to improve relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the two families of the Orthodox Churches through dialogue.

Bishop Armash Nalbandian, the Holy See of Etchmiadzin and Bishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Holy See of Cilicia represented the Armenian Church. Speaking of the agenda item, “differences in Christology, Ecclesiology and Rites,” Bishop Anoushavan invited the participants to build on the consensus they had reached during earlier informal theological dialogues of the Foundation and give a new impetus to the issue of unity.

The meeting concluded with a statement and the decision to meet in February 2018, in Vienna.
