Upon the recommendation of His Holiness Aram I, during the recent Consultative meeting of the World Council of Churches(WCC), Archbishop Nareg Alemezian met with Archbishop Chrysostomos II, the Archbishop of Cyprus.

After transmitting the brotherly salutations of the Catholicos, Archbishop Nareg discussed ways in which they could strengthen the historical ties between the two churches and follow up the recommendations of the MECC Assembly. They also talked about matters related to the Armenian community in Cyprus.

At the end of the meeting they spoke briefly about the commemorative events of the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the blessing of the Holy Muron, which Archbishop Chrysostomos II had attended.
