25-28 May 2016. The second regional meeting of the GCF, organized in cooperation with the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), was held at the Saydet El Bir monastery in Lebanon. The participants included, Rev Larry Miller, Secretary of the GCF, Rev Dr. Michel Jalkh, General Secretary of the (MECC), representatives of the Churches in the region and Very Rev Housig Mardirossian, Director of Ecumenical Relations, Catholicosate of Cilicia.

During the three-day meeting, participants discussed the violence and conflict in the Middle East, problems of the refugees, Christian-Muslim relations and future cooperation between the GCF and the MECC. The consultation ended with a press release in which the participants condemned the violence in the region and affirmed the commitment of the region’s churches to stopping the emigration of Christians.
