22 January 2016

On Thursday morning, a group of theology students from England, Germany, Switzerland and the United States of America, along with their professors, met with His Holiness Aram I to learn about the Armenian Church and its presence in the Middle East.

The Catholicos explained the historical role of the Middle East in the creation and development of the monotheistic religions and emphasized how important Christian-Muslim dialogue and cooperation are to preserving the specific heritage of the region. He then discussed the theology and history of the Armenian Church, and spoke of the regional and global contribution of the Catholicosate of Cilicia to the ecumenical movement.
