The Representative of the Catholicosate of Cilicia Attends The Third International Theological Colloquium for Transformative Ecumenism

18 January 2016. The third conference, held in Moshi, Tanzania from 11-16 January, discussed the theme “Growing together in Transformative Ecumenism.” The discussion is a continuation of conferences held in Seoul, (2013) and Manila (2014).

 

The Moderator of the WCC Central and Executive Committees, Dr Agnes Abuom, members of the Central Committee, and representatives of Churches and ecumenical organizations discussed the future of ecumenism, new understandings of the ecumenical movement and the preparation of new ecumenical leaders. Very Rev Housig Mardirossian, the Ecumenical Officer, represented the Catholicosate of Cilicia.

 

The lectures and round tables emphasised the role of churches in contributing to justice and peace and addressed situation of migrants from Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The participants urged the churches not to remain silent in the face of the current tragedy.
