19 October 2015. On Monday His Holiness Aram I, accompanied by Archbishop Toghramadjian, the Prelate of Greece, and Mr Ara Mangoian, President of the Church Council, met with His Excellency Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the President of Greece.

The Catholicos thanked the President for his long-standing and faithful support of the Armenian cause, and he praised the government for organizing the international conference on “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East,” with the participation of Christian and Muslim leaders, which he had discussed last year between His Holiness and the Prime Minister of Greece.

In response, President Pavlopoulos reconfirmed his respect for Armenians and their cause and praised the Armenian community in Greece for their positive contribution towards the alleviation of the Greek crisis.
