A delegation representing His Holiness Aram I attended the 100 Anniversary Commemoration of the Genocide of Syriac Orthodox Church

A delegation headed by Archbishop Kegham Khatcherian went to Damscus 13-14 June to represent His Holiness Aram I during the two-day commemorations in remembrance of the 100th anniversary of Martyrs of the Assyrian Genocide and the blessing of the Holy Muron. Among the many guests, the Armenian Church was present through the representatives of Catholicoi Karekin II and Aram I.

Archbishop Kegham read the message of His Holiness Aram I addressed to His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II in Arabic. In the message Catholicos Aram I referred to the Genocide and the similar fate of Armenians and Assyrians; congratulated the Patriarch for the cooperation between their two sister churches and expressed the hope for widening it.

The commemorative event concluded with a special dinner hosted by the Patriarch, in honor of the representatives of churches.
