On Monday morning, June 1st, 2020, His Holiness Aram I presided over the Religious Council of the National General Assembly. During the meeting, issues pertaining to the Armenian Church in general and the Holy See of Cilicia in particular were discussed including matters concerning rites, Christian education, publications, ecumenical relations, information and communication, and social services, and appropriate decisions were adopted.

At the end of the meeting, the Catholicos made an announcement stating that the meeting allocated a session to talk about the consequences of the pandemic on church celebrations and services. He reminded that every person’s life is valuable; therefore, respecting social distancing rules and the safety procedures to prevent the spread of the virus is imperative for all, at all times.
