On Saturday evening, February 22^nd, 2020, the Khatchig Babikian Fund’s Interschool Competition commenced in the hall of the Yeghishe Manoukian College, under the auspices of the Catholicosate of Cilicia.

The director of the Competition Varoujan Tenbelian offered the welcoming remarks. Shedding light on the accomplishments of the Khatchig Babikian Fund’s Interschool Competition, which was established in 2009  upon the request of His Holiness Aram I, Tenbelian explained the new format of the competition, where schools, of five students each, will compete in the categories of Armenian language and literature, Armenian History, Religion, Armenian Culture, poetry recitation and singing. The evaluations are done by a jury.

Sts. Hripsimiantz College successfully completed the first round of the competition, while the Armenian Theological Seminary completed the second round.

The next round is scheduled for March 14^th; semifinals will take place on March 28^th and April 4^th; and the final round is scheduled for April 25^th.   

Note that the competition is taking place at Yeghishe Manoukian College, and all are welcome to attend.
