His Holiness Aram I is in constant contact with the Catholicosal Vicar Rev. Fr. Levon Yeghiayan midst the Turkish military offensive in Syria and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing.

Fr. Levon detailed the Catholicos about the situation stating that the Armenian populated area of Qamishli is not under immediate danger. He added that there are 15 families in Tel Abyad, 2 in Ras al-Ayn, 60 in Derik and 70 in Hasiche, who are witnessing the Turkish bombardments.

Note that, His Holiness has put a certain amount of money at the disposal of the Father and the Qamishli community to provide for the families’ in need.
