HIS HOLINESS ARAM I DECORATES KRIKOR AGOPIAN WITH THE “ST. MESROB MASHDOTS” INSIGNIA

On Monday evening, July 29th, 2019, His Holiness Aram I decorated artist Krikor Agopian with the “St. Mesrob Mashdots” insignia, during a special ceremony held at the auditorium of the Armenian Theological Seminary, in Bikfaya.

 

Addressing the artist in the special Encyclical issued on the occasion, His Holiness states that Agopian is a prominent artist known in the Armenian and non-Armenian communities, and his art has been exhibited in more than 250 collective and 60 individual exhibitions around the world. Krikorian holds various international recognitions and awards.

 

In turn, the artist took the stage to express his gratitude and joy over receiving the insignia.

 

During the ceremony, Hagop Havatian, managing director of Hamazkayin Publishing House, bookstore and gallery, and art critic Dr. Claude Rahayel delivered their speeches on this occasion, and Rev. Fr. Oshin Tchvalertanian played the Armenian Duduk.
