The 56th meeting of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission of the Churches on International Affairs (CCIA) took place on February 24-28, 2019, in Bali, Indonesia. Prof. Nora Bayrakdarian Kabakian, member of the CCIA representing the Holy See of Cilicia, participated at the five-day meeting. Dr. Bayrakdarian Kabakian partook in the discussions especially through two working groups: “Reform of international governance” and “the Middle East.”

Note that the WCC Commission of the Churches on International Affairs advises WCC leadership on critical situations in the world and on opportunities to support initiatives for peacemaking and justice. The commission helps the WCC identify challenges to the churches and guides them in shaping a coherent ecumenical response.

It is worth to mention that Ms. Carla Khijoyan, Programme Executive for the Middle East at the World Council of Churches, also participated at the meeting.
