On Friday evening, January 18th, His Holiness Aram I surprised the students of the Armenological department of the Catholicosate of Cilicia with his visit. Jirayr Tanielian, the director of the department, and prof. Ashod Melkonian, who has come to Antelias from Armenia as a guest lecturer, accompanied His Holiness.

Aram I and the students talked about the importance of the Armenian Studies in today’s world. The Catholicos spoke about the progress of the Department in the last five years and stated that the fruits of the effort are more visible now. He also commended the 30 students, who are attending sessions on Armenian history, culture, linguistics, religious and other subjects, for benefiting from this opportunity and committing to it.
