12 January 2013. The Patriarchal Vicar of the Maronite Church, Archbishop Paul Sayah, visited His Holiness Aram I. The Archbishop briefed the Catholicos on the meeting initiated by Patriarch, Cardinal Rai, on Friday, 11 January, at which he and Maronite political leaders met to discuss issues related to the electoral law.

Catholicos Aram I welcomed the initiative of the Patriarch and said that he would support any law that would respect the rights of communities and their role in elections. Archbishop Sayah told him that the Patriarch will continue consulting with him until they arrive at a common Christian position.
