On Monday, August 13th, 2018, His Holiness Aram I presided over a requiem service for the repose of the souls of all departed Armenians around the world at St. Mary’s Monastery in Bikfaya. His Holiness prayed for the souls of those who had fallen for the freedom of Armenia, and asked God to protect the Armenians, especially the Armenian soldiers serving on the borders of the country.
After the Divine Liturgy and according to the tradition, a reception was held in the vicinity of the Armenian Theological Seminary, where the clergy, the Seminary students, the Church Ladies Auxiliary, and the volunteers who had participated in the preparation of the sacrifice in the preceding days had gathered. On this occasion, His Holiness talked about the importance of serving the church and the community and commanded the volunteers for their dedication.
