On July 17th, His Holiness Aram I visited the Birds’ Nest Orphanage in Byblos to inspect the renovation works that have been completed. Thanks to the generous donation of Diana Der Hovsepian from Argentina, the orphans of the Birds’ Nest are now provided with new bedrooms. Der Hovsepian has dedicated her deed to the memory of her brother Vahan Der Hovsepian.
His Holiness commanded Der Hovsepian’s kind act and stated that he had known Vahan Der Hovsepian personally. Aram I continued his speech stressing the importance of the Birds’ Nest Orphanage not only in the Armenian history, where it has been a shelter for child victims of the Armenian Genocide, but also today, as it continues to shelter children who are less fortunate.
