On Monday, April 30^th, representatives from the churches of Lebanon and of the M.E.C.C. met in the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia. The special committee is tasked with organizing an international ecumenical youth gathering in 2019.

Prior to the meeting, the committee members paid their respects to the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, by laying a wreath and candles in front of the Martyrs’ Chapel. Very Rev. Fr. HrantTahanian, Ecumenical Officer of the Catholicosate, took the opportunity to share with those present that requiem services are not longer offered to the victims, as they were sanctified in 2015. The intercession prayer and hymn dedicated to the martyrs was subsequently offered.
