The Catholicosate Of Cilicia Participates in the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) in Chian Mai, Thailand

Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian, Prelate of Tehran and member of the Executive Committee of CCA, attended the anniversary conference entitled: “Towards Revitalizing the Ecumenical Movement in Asia.” During the deliberative sessions, Archbishop Sebouh moderated the session entitled “The Ecumenical Movement, and Threats to Religious Freedom.” After a brief introduction, he invited the speakers to share their concerns as Christian minorities in the region.

 

Following the consultation, The CCA Executive Committee held its annual meeting on 13-15 July 2017, to discuss post-anniversary priorities.

 

The Archbishop attended also the CCA Ecumenical Women’s gathering where Dr Alice Khatchian represented the Diocese of Tehran. In his address to the women, he spoke of the important role of women as educators.

 

After Chiang Mai, Archbishop Sebouh met with members of the Armenian community in Bangkok and visited Honorary Ambassador Rostom Alekian.
