20 June 2017. On Tuesday morning his Holiness Aram I received Mr Antoine Laham, Assistant to Steffan de Mistura, the Special Envoy for Syria, at St Mary’s Monastery in Bikfaya. Mr Laham was visiting the region and had come to meet with His Holiness Aram I and continue the consultation between Steffan de Mistura and His Holiness Aram I, which had been held in Athens and Geneva. Mr Laham explained the latest plan to resolve the conflict in Syria, and His Holiness emphasized the role that the Christian communities, as full citizens of Syria, should play in the discussions on reconstruction, revision of the constitution and reforms.
