His Holiness Aram I Presides over the Mid Lent Service at the St Nishan Church of the Diocese of Lebanon

According to the established tradition, and in response to the invitation of the Prelate and members of the Church Council of the Diocese of Lebanon, His Holiness Aram I presided over the Mid Lent Service at the St Nishan Church in Beirut. The Seminarians who accompanied the Catholicos chanted the Service.

At the end of the Service the Catholicos greeted the faithful and the students of Armenian Schools in the city, who also attended the Service and spoke to them of the Great Lent and God’s plan for humanity. He told them “in love, God sent His only Son, the new Adam to redeem, and reconcile humanity and all Creation. Quoting the Apostle, he continued, ‘The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.’ (1 Corinthians 15.45). He then reminded the faithful that human life was a gift of God and God had made humanity stewards of Creation to safeguard the dignity of the human person and the beauty of the Creation. Therefore, human beings should understand and remember their role, their vocation in this world as co-creators and respond to this call by imitating Jesus Christ…

At the end of the Service, Hi Holiness, and the students of the seminary were invited to have breakfast prepared by the Women’s Committee of St. Nishan Church.
