The Fifth Meeting of the Anglican and Oriental Orthodox Theological Dialogue Commission is Held in Antelias.

25-28 October 2016. On Tuesday, the meeting began in Antelias in the presence of the delegations representing the Anglican Communion and the representatives of the Oriental Orthodox Churches. The Oriental Orthodox delegation included representatives from the Armenian Church, the Holy See of Cilicia, the Coptic, Syriac, Malabar Indian and Ethiopian Orthodox Churches. The delegations comprised clergy theologians. Very Rev Housig Mardirossian, Ecumenical Officer, and Rev . Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, Dean of the Seminary, represented the Catholicosate of Cilicia, Holy See of Etchmiyadzin was not able to participate.

His Holiness Aram I inaugurated the meeting. After greeting the delegates, he welcomed this on-going process between the two Church families and encouraged the members of the Commission to discuss not only theological issues but also current socio-ethical issues touching the life of the Churches. The meeting concluded with a statement affirming their commitment to the dialogue.

Along with the official agenda of the meeting, His Holiness Aram I held separate private meetings with Bishop Gregory Cameron, representing the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Metropolitan Anba Bishoy, representing Patriarch Tawadros II of Alexandria, the Coptic Orthodox Church. The delegates also visited the Armenian Genocide Orphans ā€˜Aram Bezikianā€™ Museum and other spiritual monuments in Lebanon.
