During the week His Holiness Aram I met three experts on Armenian History, language and culture: Prof. Seta Dadoyan, former Professor of Art and Philosophy at the American University of Beirut and Columbia University, Dr Barlow Meguedchian, Director of the Center for Armenian Studies at California State University, Fresno, and Prof Hratch Tchiliguirian, Associate Faculty Member in the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Oxford University.

After hearing their brief presentations on the status of Armenian studies in their respective disciplines and a brief discussion on their current research, Catholicos Aram I said that he was very happy to learn about the state of Armenian studies in western universities today. He encouraged the guests to try to attract more Armenian and non-Armenian students to undergo research, in order to deepen and expand the scope of publications in the field. He then concluded, “In our history, language and culture, there is still a wealth of resources waiting to be researched and shared.”
