The Primate of Lebanon transmits His Holiness Aram I’s letter addressing the German Chancellor to Germany’s ambassador to Lebanon

3 June 2016. On Friday noon, Bishop Shahé Panossian, accompanied by Very Rev Sipan Kechedjian and Rev Hovhannes Saghdjian, met with His Excellency Martin Huth, the Ambassador of Germany to Lebanon. They transmitted the letter of His Holiness Aram I to Chancellor Angela Merkel on the adoption of the resolution on the Armenian Genocide by the Bundestag. They also thanked the members of the German Parliament and the people for their support of human rights and justice.

 

The Ambassador thanked the delegation and assured them that Germans give precedence to human values over politics. He also accepted the Bishop’s invitation to meet the leadership and representatives of the Armenian Community on 13 June at the “Yercho Samuelian Hall” of the Prelacy in Beirut.
