On Saturday morning Ambassador Mohammad Fathali, accompanied by the political attaché and other high-ranking officials, visited His Holiness in Antelias on the occasion of Armenian Christmas. After exchanging good wishes, they talked about recent developments in the Middle East, particularly the escalation of conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran. The ambassador explained the reasons for the conflict and the position of Iran. Catholicos Aram I expressed the hope that the parties would resolve the situation through dialogue and avoid further bloodshed in the region.
