8 November 2015. Archbihop Sebouh Sarkissian, Primate of Iran, and Very Reverend Housig Mardirossian, the Ecumenical Officer, took part in a conference organized by the Global Christian Forum, held in Tirana (Albania), in cooperation with the local Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical churches.

In the presence of 150 representatives of Churches and Christian Organizations, speakers from Asia, Africa and the Middle East shared their experiences as minorities. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian Prelate of Syria, who was invited to speak on the situation of Christians in Syria, could not attend the conference because of the recent siege of Aleppo. On behalf of Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian V. Rev Housig described the difficulties of Christians, particularly those of the Armenians in Aleppo and urged the participants to convince their governments to seek diplomatic solutions to end the crisis. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening Christian–Muslim cooperation by supporting the local churches morally and financially. Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian then spoke of the Armenian community in Iran and the importance of dialogue as a means for finding a solution.

The conference ended with a message calling upon churches to listen to those in difficulty, to pray for them, and, to urge their governments to join them in solidarity with the suffering churches and support their efforts of reconciliation.
